Western Medical Indications:
Anemia,fever after acute loss of blood due to parturition
TCVM Indications:
Blood and Qi Deficiency
Consumptive Fatigue
Fever after acute loss of blood
Warm ears/body surfaces
Yang floating with Heat
Thirsty for warm water
Pulse: Large and Weak
Tongue: Pale and dry
Contraindications:
Do not use in patients with a history of exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage or nosebleeds, fever due to Yin Deficiency.
Warning:
Stop administrating the formula immediately if the patient has diarrhea or unusual signs.
Dosage for Horse:
15 g twice daily as top dressing on feed
Dosage for Dog/Cat:
0.5 g per 10 to 20 lb body weight
Chinese Principles of Treatment:
Tonify Qi to generate Blood.

Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang from nei wai shang bian huo lun (内外伤辨惑论 Clarifying Doubts abut Injury from Internal and External Causes) written by Li Ao in 1247.
